Turning Fresh Ingredients into Everyday Meals
Our Healthy Food Champions program is rooted in the powerful idea that food is deeply cultural, communal, and capable of empowering communities to take greater control of their lives.
Through hands-on learning and welcoming spaces, Healthy Food Champions invests in community leadership and helps participants make the most of the fresh, healthy ingredients they receive through our food pantries and distribution partners, including the Alameda County Community Food Bank. The program hosts interactive cooking demonstrations that show how seasonal produce and pantry staples can be transformed into simple and nourishing meals.

I remember having a broken tooth fixed and getting to pick a toy from a treasure box when the procedure was done. Growing up, my focus was to be a nurse because of what I saw at La Clínica.
