After receiving Master’s degrees in both Social Work and Public Health from the University of California, Berkeley, Ms. Facher began her professional career as a Medical Social Worker with La Clínica de La Raza, Inc. (La Clínica) in 1993. Since that time, Ms. Facher has held positions as an instructor, manager and a leader within Behavioral Health disciplines. After having provided direct patient care to culturally diverse, low-income patients as a Medical Social Worker with both La Clínica and Marin Community Clinic, Ms. Facher went on to work as a Public Health Consultant Trainer from 1999-2007. In this capacity, Ms. Facher helped to design and deliver customized trainings to line staff of state, county, and non-profit agencies on a broad range of behavioral health topics. Clients included the Alameda County Social Services Agency, Alameda County Behavioral Health Services, First 5 California, California Family Health Council, UCSF’s California Childcare Health Program, and several others.
Ms. Facher returned to La Clínica in 2008 to become the agency’s Manager of Integrated Behavioral Health. She was a senior consultant at The Permanente Medical Group from 2016 – 2019, and then returned to La Clínica as Director of Behavioral Health. Since her return in early 2019, Ms. Facher has overseen all Behavioral Health Services for La Clínica, including: Specialty Behavioral Health Services in Alameda and Contra Costa Counties, Integrated Behavioral Health Services, and Prevention and Early Intervention services. The Specialty Behavioral Health programs, Casa del Sol in Oakland and Casa de Luz in Oakley, are licensed community mental health clinics that provide a broad range of culturally-based mental health services. La Clínica’s Integrated Behavioral Health services include Case Managers, Integrated Behavioral Health Clinicians, and Behavioral Medicine Specialists who are co-located in our 20 primary care clinics, including our School-Based Health Centers. Community-based Behavioral Health Prevention and Early Intervention services are provided in Alameda County by Mental Health Specialists, Health Educators, and Traditional Healers who provide workshops and support groups in the community and consultation to community leaders.
In addition to her Master’s degrees in both Social Work and Public Health, Ms. Facher received her Bachelor’s degree in Sociology, Cum Laude, from Brandeis University in Waltham, Massachusetts.
Anita Addison is the Chief of Planning and Strategic Advancement and is responsible for strategic planning, facilities development and management, fund development, and grants management. She joined La Clínica in 1989 and serves as La Clínica’s primary project coordinator for major capital projects, which has included the Fruitvale Transit Village, San Antonio Neighborhood Health Center, and La Clinica Monument sites. Prior to coming to La Clínica, Ms. Addison served as the Planning and Development Director for the William F. Ryan Community Health Center in New York City. She has also worked for the Spanish Speaking Unity Council, which is a community development corporation based in Oakland’s Fruitvale District.
Ms. Addison has been a guest speaker on clinic capital projects at conferences sponsored by Capital Link, the California Primary Care Association, and the National Association of Community Health Centers. She has provided technical assistance to a number of California clinics on capital project development through the Community Clinics Initiative of the Tides Foundation, and served on the advisory committee for the Center for Health Design’s safety net clinic design project sponsored by the California Healthcare Foundation.
Ms. Addison holds Master’s degrees in City and Regional Planning as well as Public Health from U.C. Berkeley and a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology from Stanford University. She has a certificate in Project Management from UC Berkeley.
Ms. Aguilera began her career working in government for U.S. Senator Barbara Boxer before moving on to the legal and healthcare fields. Ms. Aguilera has more than ten years of experience in the areas of program planning, grants and contracts management, and healthcare compliance.
Ms. Aguilera has held several positions at La Clínica, the most recent being Compliance & Privacy Officer, where she oversees and manages the day-to-day operations of La Clínica’s Corporate Compliance program. Prior to this position, Ms. Aguilera managed the Planning department portfolio of approximately 120 grants and contracts valued at appropriately $20 million, as Senior Planner. Along with the Office of Compliance, Ms. Aguilera led and oversaw the Health Resources and Services Administration’s (HRSA) Operational Site Visit (OSV) agency wide efforts, including managing all aspects of the pre, post, and the actual site visit itself in 2014.
Prior to that position, Ms. Aguilera was the Grants & Contracts Administrator for the Planning department, where she also helped coordinate the development, implementation and maintenance of the department’s policies and procedures to ensure Federal, State and regulatory compliance.
Before joining La Clínica, Ms. Aguilera worked in dynamic non-profit and community based settings to increase operational and program efficiencies. One such non-profit is the Unity Council, a longstanding community development corporation, where she now serves as a Board Member.
Ms. Aguilera received a Master of Education & Teaching at the University of San Francisco, a Bachelor’s degree in English from the University of California at Berkeley, and is Certified in Healthcare Compliance (CHC) and Healthcare Privacy Compliance (CHPC). Ms. Aguilera is fluent in English and Spanish.
Mr. Cortez has over 30 years of information systems management, technical operations, data/informatics, telecommunication, and computer application and information technology experience.
Since June 1989, Mr. Cortez has led the growth of the Information Technology (IT) Department and associated technical infrastructure at La Clínica. As La Clínica’s Chief Information Officer and Information Security Officer, Mr. Cortez is responsible for the strategic vision, direction, oversight, and management of Information Technology for La Clínica, which includes the Information Technology Department and all electronic related data systems, computing equipment, servers, communications infrastructure, devices, data/informatics, and related electronic security of such systems, data, and devices. He also supervises senior IT management staff that oversees the day to day operations of the IT department. Before joining La Clínica, Mr. Cortez worked in a series of positions, honing technology related skills and technology consulting skills.
Mr. Cortez attended the UC Berkeley School of Engineering as a double major in Mechanical and Nuclear Power Engineering. Mr. Cortez is fluent in both English and Spanish.
Ms. Susan B. Moore has served as the Chief Financial Officer for La Clínica since March 2018. Ms. Moore received her Bachelor’s degree Summa Cum Laude from San Francisco State University in Business Administration, with an accounting emphasis. She was licensed as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in California for 25 years.
Susan B. Moore is a finance professional with over two decades of experience working with Academic Medical Centers, Health Maintenance Organizations, Private Hospitals, and Medical Groups. Previously, she worked as Director of Strategy & Business Development at Children’s Hospital & Research Center at Oakland, a regional pediatric medical center offering a range of inpatient, outpatient, and community based programs. Prior to her time at Children’s Hospital & Research Center, she served as Interim Chief Financial Officer at UCSF Medical Center and was responsible for the agency’s financial management, including strategic financial planning, capital planning, admitting, billing, collections, financing, and the design and operation of internal control systems. As a member of the senior management team, she provided advice to the Chief Executive Officer and other team members on matters concerning the financial implications, risks, and opportunities related to key issues and important strategic decisions. Prior to her work at UCSF Medical Center, she served as Assistant Controller, Northern California for the Kaiser Foundation Health Plan, Inc. & Hospitals. In this role she was responsible for the General Accounting, Payroll, Accounts Payable and Business Systems Departments, with 180 employees. Her work placed a strong emphasis on internal controls, business planning, process control and improvement, and strategic systems development.
