Director of Medical Operations
Teena-Marie Benitez has served as La Clínica de La Raza’s Director of Medical Operations since April 2022. A lifelong Bay Area resident and dedicated healthcare leader, she brings more than 18 years of experience within community based and Federally Qualified Health Centers. Her career at La Clínica reflects a long-standing commitment to advancing the organization’s mission of providing comprehensive, culturally responsive care to the communities it serves.
Teena-Marie joined La Clínica in 2015 as a Clinic Supervisor at San Antonio Neighborhood Health Center, one of the organization’s largest sites. She advanced to Clinic Manager in 2017, Regional Manager/Associate Director of Medical Operations in 2019, and ultimately Director of Medical Operations in 2022. Her progression reflects both her operational expertise and her deep commitment to strengthening community health.
In her current role, Teena-Marie oversees systemwide medical site operations, supporting more than 700 team members and collaborating closely with the Chief Medical Officer to ensure alignment between organizational strategy and daily practice. She has led major initiatives in operational optimization, emergency preparedness, and workforce engagement, contributing to stronger care delivery and improved patient access. During the COVID-19 pandemic, she played a central role in designing and implementing La Clínica’s testing and vaccination programs, helping safeguard patients, staff, and the broader community.
Teena-Marie’s leadership is grounded in integrity, collaboration, and a deep respect for the communities La Clínica serves. She remains committed to strengthening the organization’s long-term sustainability, advancing health equity, and supporting the development of future community health leaders.
