Message from the CEO

Compassion. Hope. Trust. Respect. Excellence.

That’s what our community has come to expect from La Clínica over the past 49 years.

We have always been guided by our recognition that creating healthier communities requires integrating health education and prevention into our health care delivery model. We do this every day by promoting our patients’ well-being in partnership with the broader community.

This means that you will see La Clínica partnering with community-based organizations and patients to address issues related to the social determinants of health, like food insecurity and stable housing. It means you will see us engaged in data sharing and innovative evidence-based programming to address health disparities and advocate for health equity. It also means you will see us providing health education services in a manner that reflects the needs and voices of the community.

Since our founding, La Clínica’s Community Health Education (CHE) department has enhanced the lives of the diverse communities we serve by focusing on the socioeconomic factors that influence health and quality of life in order to improve overall wellness and disease prevention.

Having a local focus means that our employees live and work in the same neighborhoods as many of the community members we serve. Similarly, our program coordinators come from the same communities as our patients, and thus we can achieve the highest standards in linguistically and culturally competent health care services.

As we close out 2019 and contend with the recent challenges to our health care systems posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, our core commitment to our community is strengthened: every person deserves access to high quality, culturally appropriate health care, regardless of their ability to pay. As we look to care for our patients and our community after the pandemic, we hope to use what we have learned to provide the most efficient and effective care—allowing us to meet patients where they are and provide them the best care in the most accessible way.

In support of this commitment we continue to refine and expand a diverse array of innovative and meaningful programs, to ensure that a community-responsive and integrated health care delivery system remains our top priority. This will have long-lasting changes that will result in better health outcomes for our communities.

¡Sí se puede!
